Are you all belly or hips?

Few of us are born with that enviable body shape, the Hour-glass where the breasts are perfectly rounded, the waist nicely narrowed-down and hips appropriately widened.

But some of the world’s most beautiful women have body shapes that aren’t hour-glassy! And still, they’re routinely voted for being sexy, gorgeous and beautiful, which shows that making the best of what you have is what matters the most.

Here are three of the most common shapes:

Apple: You’re slim all over but have a slight mid-section problem. But don’t you worry! Believe it or not, these super-svelte women were born with your shape – Angelina Jolie and Reese Witherspoon. But they’re Hollywood Skinny, so you can’t tell. There’s also Drew Barrymore and (gasp!) Catherine Zeta Jones. For the average apple, empire-style cuts, A-lines and low necks work fabulously well.

Pear: If you’re big around the hips and thighs, then you’re a pear my friend. And you happen to be in good company - Kate Winslet, Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez are on your side. However, you’d do well avoiding tight lower-halves, go for tighter tops or dresses that fit on the top and loosen downward.

Hour-glass: Just one word, two actually, Scarlett Johansson. You’ve got the perfect shape if you look like her. Almost anything will look good on you. Simply show off those curves.

Even as we type this, new shapes are entering the body-shape lexicon which goes to show that most of us are a combination-type. But whatever you are, there’s even strawberry, rectangle and tube. Love yourself, eat well, and stay healthy. Use common sense to accentuate the best and conceal the worst.
